I received my Math 11 (College Algebra) modules and course guide on registration day. Curious about the supposed novelty of the UP Open University (UPOU) approach, I immediately began to examine the course guide and the attached problem sets. Gosh! I gasped. They looked Greek. Well, not really all, most seemed to me like hieroglyphics or cuneiform or some other form of writing alien to me. Here was algebra before me, beckoning me to unlock her secret codes. Algebra stood before me with mocking eyes and a seductive grin, daring me to venture into her hidden regions.
With clammy fingers and suppressed arousal (not THAT arousal, you imaginative creature!), I began to caress algebra and explore her wonders. What started off as nervousness slowly turned into a titillating and warm experience. Skimming through the module was, for me, foreplay of some sort. "I'll have more of that part later," I'd say when something really catches my attention during my browsing.
